Performing President Choi Sang-mok accepted the resignation of the Presidential Safety Service (PSS) chief Friday, in keeping with Choi’s workplace, amid rising conflicts over arresting President Yoon Suk-yeol, who stays inside his fortified residence.

Park Chong-jun, head of the PSS, submitted his resignation shortly earlier than showing for police questioning earlier within the day over allegations that he obstructed the Corruption Investigation Workplace for Excessive-ranking Officers (CIO) from executing a court-issued warrant to arrest Yoon final week.

„Park has submitted his resignation, and it has been accepted,“ the finance ministry stated in a press release.

Park, who has been booked on allegations of obstructing official duties, complied with the police’s third request for questioning, after defying two earlier requests.

The CIO and police are reportedly making ready for a second try to execute the arrest warrant to usher in Yoon, who’s going through allegations of rebellion over his failed try to impose martial legislation in December.

Yoon has refused to cooperate with the CIO’s summons or warrant execution, arguing that the company shouldn’t be licensed to analyze prices of rebellion.

In the meantime, the CIO and police are contemplating whether or not to detain PSS employees members in the event that they try to impede the second arrest try. (Yonhap)
