Korean and U.S. Marines have staged a 10-day joint infantry train, the South’s Marine Corps mentioned Wednesday, in continued efforts to reinforce their mixed fight capabilities.

Some 440 troops from Korea’s 2nd Marine Division and the U.S. third Marine Expeditionary Power took half within the drills launched on March 3 and carried out in coaching amenities in Gimpo and Ganghwa, northwest of Seoul, in line with the Marine Corps.

Within the first section of the coaching, Marines from each side have been assigned to mixed platoons to strengthen their interoperability and sharpen their sensible capabilities by means of freeform maneuvering combats, it mentioned.

They participated in mountain warfare coaching for the second section, which concerned 3-kilometer pace marches and impediment programs.

The most recent train was held as a part of the common Korea Marine Train Program, designed to strengthen mixed readiness between the allies. (Yonhap)
