Korean American lawmaker named chair of House subcommittee on East Asia and Pacific

A Korean American congresswoman has been named to chair the subcommittee on East Asia and Pacific affairs beneath the Home Overseas Affairs Committee throughout the 119th Congress that kicked off final week, the committee’s chairman mentioned Thursday.

Rep. Younger Kim (R-CA), who led the subcommittee on the Indo-Pacific throughout the earlier Congress, will lead the subcommittee, based on Committee Chairman Brian Mast (R-FL).
