Olympic Chief Remains Suspended After Losing Appeal

The pinnacle of the nationwide Olympic committee will stay suspended after dropping his attraction of a latest courtroom ruling on Friday.

The Seoul Excessive Courtroom dismissed an attraction by Lee Kee-heung, president of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC), to overturn an earlier choice by the Seoul Administration Courtroom. On Dec. 13, the administration courtroom rejected Lee’s software for an injunction towards the sports activities ministry’s choice to droop him from his duties for alleged improper conduction, together with unlawful hiring practices and misuse of funds.

Lee mentioned he’ll attraction the newest choice and take the case to the Supreme Courtroom.

In interesting the December choice to the Seoul Excessive Courtroom, Lee claimed that it was debatable whether or not the sports activities ministry even had the authority to droop him.

Lee is pursuing his third time period as KSOC president. The election is scheduled for Tuesday and Lee is up towards 5 different candidates.

Regardless of the cloud of allegations over his head, Lee was cleared by the KSOC’s Fee for Honest Play in Sport to run within the election.

In accordance with KSOC statutes, its president could run for a second time period with out restrictions, however a bid for a 3rd time period and past should be permitted by the subcommission.
